When we at SoJones first heard of Waka Flocka Flame, we thought Hip Hop lost its mind and let some goon in the booth that didnt belong there. Surely enough, Flockas first single, O lets do it, was huge and led to the emergence of one of the better record labels around, 1017 Brick Squad . With gangster appeal and hardcore lyrics presented from the perspective of a Piru , Waka Flocka brought commercial appeal as well as realness to a rap game that needed a gun pulled in front of it.
Reports have been pouring in throughout rap media outlets that Waka Flock will be quitting the rap game after this year. Wonder why he would make such a decision after so much success, reader? We at SoJones wonder the same thing. Flocka has stated, like many rappers do , that the shady ways of the industry have gotten to him, and he would rather work at Walmart than continue his career at rapping. Really, now? SoJones finds this extremely hard to believe; that someone who has a diamond fozzie bear chain dangling from his neck, a tour bus, and groupie love from hoodrats all over the world would give it all up to scan juice and crackers at your local Walmart. Will it at least be a Walmart away from the hood, Flocka? We digress.
SoJones loves Flockas music, and so do kids who like to get crunk and all partygoers who like to smoke weed and pop pills. Even our president has been given the Flocka treatment with a Hard in the paint remake that made us laugh our butts off. So, reader, will you miss Flocka if he leaves the rap game?
