The 10 finalists for the FDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award were announced after what we can only imagine was a heated roundtable debate between the judging panel. It must feel pretty surreal to have the likes of Anna Wintour, CFDA president Diane Von Furstenberg, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, of Proenza Schouler, and Jenna Lyons, president of J. Crew, select your designs for such prestigious award. The lucky contenders are:
AA Antonio Azzuolo Altuzarra Joseph Altuzarra (pictured) Carlos Campos Carlos Campos Creatures of the Wind Shane Gabier and Christopher Peters Cushnie Et Ochs Michelle Ochs and Carly Cushnie Fenton/Fallon Dana Lorenz Finn Jewelry Soraya Silchenstedt Ohne Titel Alexa Adams and Flora Gill Pamela Love Jewelry Pamela Love Suno Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty
The finalists will first have to create looks for a special fashion show at the Chateau Marmont in L.A. before the winner is announced in mid-November. The first place designer receives $300,000 and a year of business mentorship. Past winners include Alexander Wang, Sophie Theallet, and Billy Reid. This is the second year in a row that Joseph Altuzarra and Pamela Love have been nominated.
