I spotted a shot of Diane Kruger wearing an easy, draped red dress at the amfAR gala last month, and something must have gotten into my brain because since then, I’ve been drawn to crimson frocks. (Hey, they worked for Vivian and Annie.) I love Ms. Kruger’s goddess-meets-Xanadu take, and I’m drawn to this Nanette Lepore dress, a nod to ’50s femininity. And then there’s the mod approach taken by BCBGMAXAZRIA and Calvin Klein Collection (pictured above). Both simple shifts, the designers gave them a little something special by conjuring them in bold cardinal and bright poppy. Perfection.
