In March, before word got out about just how bad American Apparel’s financial situation is, the company’s CEO Dov Charney announced that he’d unveil a denim line this month. On Monday, he sent out a press release detailing exactly what those jeans will look like. But with the company in so far over its head, we’re wondering whether or not a few pairs of jeans will be enough to save the company.

Fashionista got a copy of the press release, which as far as we can tell doesn’t address any of the company’s financial problems, or the fact that it might have to file for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. It does say

For the final show of LG Fashion Week, Line Knitwear closed the event with a strong line and fun show, the brand was definitely the perfect choice to end the week. The show started with a speech from FDCC president Robin Kay about the success of the week, thanking journalists, volunteers, and the PR teams.

The design duo offered innovative knits in earthy and neutral hues inspired by from European settlers. The crochet cardigans, chunky knit maxi dresses, and patchwork sweaters were all very wearable and appropriate for fall. A crochet dress with a deep v back gave the knitwear line added very glamorous feel.

Line didn’t only show knits this season. F

American Apparel has been in trouble for some time now (and we’re not just talking about those sexual abuse allegations which, as of today, just got about four times worse). The business side of things keeps looking more and more dismal. The debt, the delisting scare, the management changes — it’s all just really messy.
